(NewsUSA) – The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in most people having to conduct their daily lives, including work, entertainment, and social interactions, online.

As a result, people of all ages are experiencing symptoms of cybersickness, which is a form of motion sickness characterized by nausea, disorientation, and oculomotor disturbances.

The phenomenon of cybersickness existed before the pandemic, but it was mostly studied in the context of virtual reality games.

According to Kay Stanney and colleagues’ study published in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction in 2020, cybersickness can be attributed to one’s senses perceiving motion while their body remains still.

This can occur during video gaming, Zoom meetings, or endless scrolling. It can be likened to seasickness in reverse, where instead of the body moving while one perceives that they should remain still, the body remains still while one perceives motion.

Fortunately, methods that alleviate other motion sickness types can also relieve the dizziness and discomfort associated with cybersickness. One such tool is the Sea-Band wristband, which naturally relieves motion and travel sickness symptoms using acupressure. The bands’ studs put gentle, steady pressure on the P6 (Nei-Kuan) acupressure point, which studies have shown relieves nausea.

The Sea-Band wristbands are drug-free, so they do not cause any side effects associated with anti-nausea medications. They are appropriate for use by everyone from children to adults and typically have an effect on symptoms within five minutes of use. The wristbands are washable, reusable, and latex-free, and they can be used with other anti-nausea medication.

Aside from relieving nausea and dizziness related to motion and cybersickness, Sea-Band wristbands also alleviate other types of nausea, including those related to post-surgery, chemotherapy, and pregnancy. The wristbands are HSA- and FSA-approved and are covered by many health insurance plans. Visit sea-band.com for more information.
